At Zurich Airport, during the third quarter of this year, the Zurich Cantonal Police, in cooperation with the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security, seized more than 1,300 kilograms of narcotics and arrested 27 people. The announcement was made public on Friday afternoon.

Those arrested include 18 men and 9 women from a total of 15 different countries.
In a separate case, customs officials, working closely with the Zurich Cantonal Police, discovered several Lollipop candies and other food products in a passenger’s suitcase that had been filled with more than one kilogram of cocaine. The passenger was traveling from São Paulo to Dublin.
According to police, the smugglers had traveled to Zurich on 15 occasions from Bangkok, four times from Tel Aviv, three times from São Paulo, and once each from Hong Kong, Toronto, Phnom Penh, Barcelona and Johannesburg.
