LDP president and MP Monika Zajkova, together with party Executive Board member Boban Jankoski, called for immediate measures to reduce cases of peer violence in a video posted on social media.
According to Zajkova, the proposed centers would include sociologists, psychologists, social workers and family therapists. These professionals would work with children and their parents, offering counseling, listening to their concerns and providing education.
She said prevention is more beneficial than continuously treating a problem that, in some cases, may not be treatable. Zajkova stressed that prevention should not be viewed as an expense, but as an investment in Macedonia’s future.
Jankoski said investment in prevention is insufficient, while action is often delayed until the problem reaches serious proportions.
