The Alliance has called for the dismissal of officials at every institutional level who played a role in handling the case of Arlinda Zekaj, who was killed yesterday in Vitomiricë, Peja.
Besnik Tahiri, head of the Alliance Parliamentary Group, said after a meeting of the Assembly Presidency that the case should be viewed not only as femicide, but also as a consequence of the failure of the state and the institutional hierarchy.

In this context, he mentioned the rule-of-law institutions, the police and social work centers, stressing that the inaction of officials had contributed to creating this situation. According to Tahiri, all those responsible must be held accountable, while the Alliance is calling for their dismissal at all levels.
The party is also calling for the establishment of a parliamentary commission of inquiry to examine the case of Arlinda Zekaj and other cases through a parliamentary investigation. The Alliance has also called for issues of a social nature to be addressed separately.
Tahiri described the killing as a barbaric act and a failure of the state of Kosovo, including the responsibility of the rule-of-law institutions, the police and social work centers. He said that those who failed to act, in one way or another, had contributed to creating this wound.
During his statement, Tahiri also spoke about the return to the Assembly of the Law on Specialist Chambers. He announced that the Alliance had asked the Committee on Legislation for the Assembly’s Legal Office to determine the exact procedures for approving or amending this law.
According to him, this request has not yet been reviewed, while delaying the process does not serve the national cause.
