Three members of a family from Romania (father, mother and brother) were escorted by police after attempting to bring prohibited items into the Institution for the Execution of Criminal Sentences for Women in Pojskë, Pogradec.

The case was discovered a day earlier, when the family members had gone to visit their relative, who is serving a sentence for fraud in this prison.
During the search of the bags of clothes they had brought for the inmate, prison officers discovered that they had hidden a knife and a mobile phone.
The Romanian family had arrived in Albania only two days earlier.
The investigative team is working to clarify the reasons for bringing in the knife, since the inmate has had no conflicts with other prisoners.
After the incident, a search was also carried out in her cell, where no other illegal items were found. Investigations to fully clarify the case are ongoing.
