Agasi was arrested on Wednesday evening in Plepaj, Durrës, while traveling in an “Audi RS6.” During the search, around 4,000 euros in cash were found in the vehicle.
Also with him was former Elbasan Police official Ulian Shpataraku, who was arrested for aiding the perpetrator of the crime.
SPAK suspects that Agasi was at the head of a criminal group that exerted influence over AKSHI tenders through pressure and unfair competition. Investigations have shown that payments worth more than 1.05 billion lekë and 470,000 euros were made to his company, “EA Solution.”
Agasi faces charges for several criminal offenses, including forming a structured criminal group, corruption, and violating equality in tenders. The authorities have seized 29 properties, bank accounts, as well as the company “EA Solution.”
In the same investigation, former AKSHI director Mirlinda Karçanaj is being investigated under the measure of “obligation to appear.” Meanwhile, businessman Ermal Beqiraj is being held in pretrial detention in France, where he is awaiting extradition proceedings.
