The government today approved the Draft Law on the Management of Water Resources, announced Fitore Pacolli, the minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure. According to her, the initiative aims to improve the management of water resources and ensure more effective protection of the country’s waters.
Pacolli said that the draft law envisages the establishment of a Water Agency, as well as the advancement and harmonization of the legal framework for water resource management with European Union legislation.

Another innovation, according to the minister, is the establishment of the administrative structure of the Water Guards. They will directly carry out tasks related to the protection of water resources. Pacolli described the approval of the draft law as an important step toward more sustainable management and the protection of waters, which she described as one of the country’s most important assets.
