Residents of the Pyjore area, on the outskirts of Vlora, continue to face a lack of urban transport. The bus has for years stopped at the former Caustic Soda area and does not continue toward Narta and Zvërnec, forcing residents to walk hundreds of meters to the nearest stop.

For the community, the urban service is necessary because there are no other travel alternatives. The wait becomes even more difficult on hot days, during rain and when the road is covered in mud, since the area has no suitable stops.
One resident says the bus is often delayed and citizens are left waiting without knowing when it will arrive. She says the situation has always been the same and that residents coming from other parts of the area have to put up with walking in the heat, in winter and through mud.
Extending the line would be useful not only for residents, but also for domestic and foreign tourists visiting Narta and Zvërnec. According to citizens, an urban transport service covering this route would make it easier for holidaymakers to get around and would help increase the number of visitors.
Another resident says the lack of urban bus service is a problem for tourists and that such a service would significantly increase visits to the area. He stresses that many people come by car or bicycle, while the presence of a bus would, according to him, bring twice as many people during the season.
In the Pyjore area, which is part of the “24 Maji” neighborhood, more than 2,000 residents live. Without public transport, they travel on foot, by bicycle or by taxi. Moreover, the existing line does not cover the entire inner stretch of the Soda Forest that connects the area with Narta and Zvërnec.
Residents are asking the responsible institutions to extend the bus route and install stops along the area. According to them, this intervention would improve the daily lives of the community and increase access to some of Vlora’s tourist destinations.
