Nepalese authorities have reported that the death toll from the powerful floods that hit the country on Wednesday has reached 477.

According to the Disaster Management Authority, 977 people are still missing or cannot be contacted. This group also includes 517 foreign nationals.
As a result of the floods, 73 people have been injured, while more than 15,000 Nepalese police and army personnel have been involved in search and rescue operations.
Emergency forces have managed to rescue 3,253 people, while efforts continue to locate those who remain missing.
The number of victims may change further, as teams are continuing checks in the areas most affected by the floods.
