The draft law aimed at amending and supplementing the Law on the Specialist Chambers and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office should undergo further specialized analysis by the Assembly, the Ministry of Justice says.

According to the ministry’s opinion, the review should focus particularly on the initiative’s compliance with the Constitution of Kosovo and the country’s international obligations.
The ministry considers the matter complex because it involves several legal fields and regulations of different natures, given the importance of the draft law.
In particular, an assessment is required of the amendments’ compliance with Amendment No. 24 to the Constitution, as well as with international instruments and obligations.
The ministry has stated that, through the government, it will be ready to provide its expertise during discussions and the next steps in the Assembly’s review of the draft law.
