New shocking details have emerged during the court hearings over the murder of 28-year-old model and influencer Abby Choi, who lost her life in February 2023.

Prosecutors told the Hong Kong High Court that the crime was allegedly planned several days in advance by several relatives of the victim’s ex-husband.
According to the prosecution, the suspects rented a property in a village in the Tai Po area and obtained equipment in advance that prosecutors say was intended to help eliminate traces of the crime. Among the items found was a meat grinder, which is suspected of having been used to dismember the body.
Abby Choi’s ex-husband, Alex Kwong, his father, Kau Kwong, and his brother, Anthony Kwong, have been charged with the murder. All three have pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors allege that on February 21, 2023, Abby Choi got into a car after being told she would go and pick up her daughter from school. Evidence presented in court suggests that she may have been struck on the head with a hammer during the journey.
Afterward, according to the prosecution’s case, her body was taken to the rented property, where it was allegedly dismembered and various tools were used to conceal the evidence.
A possible motive for the crime is believed to have been a financial dispute between the victim and her ex-husband’s family. The conflict allegedly concerned ownership of a luxury apartment valued at around 60 million Hong Kong dollars, or approximately 7.6 million US dollars.
The trial is ongoing, while the three defendants continue to deny involvement in the murder.
