LSDM, as an opposition party, reacted to statements by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, who said that Macedonia has the lowest inflation in the region, stressing that such statistics, in its view, do not reflect the reality experienced by citizens.
According to the party, people do not live on statistical reports, but on the income they have at their disposal and their ability to use it to cover their basic daily needs.

LSDM believes that, although the inflation rate has declined, the consumer basket continues to remain out of reach for a large number of citizens.
“Inflation may have fallen, but the consumer basket is still difficult to afford,” LSDM said, adding that the current level of inflation, in its view, is higher than the promises made in the government program and in the 2026 Budget.
LSDM also underlined that the prices of basic products continue to be high, while wages, according to the party, remain among the lowest in Europe. According to the party’s assessment, the minimum wage is significantly below the level of neighboring countries, while the average wage is not enough to provide sufficient means for a decent life.
