Besfort Lamallari, Albania’s interior minister, said that Valon Bela and Bekir Halimi, two citizens of North Macedonia, were declared undesirable persons for 10 years under a decision issued on July 17. According to him, the measure is intended to protect the national interest.

Lamallari explained that the decision was made after reviewing the information obtained and holding consultations with security agencies.
During an interview on ABC News’ “Tirana Live” program, the minister stressed that Albania would not tolerate agendas or calls for violence that threaten the country’s security. He added that the State Police remain committed to maintaining public order and ensuring public safety.
According to Lamallari, moving closer to the European family requires Albania to act as a member state by taking all necessary measures to safeguard national security and prevent the interference of agendas that are harmful to the country, the region and beyond.
