Meanwhile, Acting President Albulena Haxhiu held consultations with the leaders of political parties at the President’s Office. The election of the new President was at the center of the discussions.
PDK, LDK and the Alliance, the three opposition parties, did not participate in the meeting.
18.08.2026, 16:16 – Albin Kurti spoke to the media on his way to the meeting with LDK representatives, stating that he was going there with a positive attitude.
“We will meet with the LDK and see how we can move forward together. Naturally, with trust and a positive atmosphere,” Kurti said.
18.08.2026, 16:15 – The meeting between Acting Prime Minister and LVV Chairman Albin Kurti and LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku had been announced as part of the latest political developments and efforts to find a solution to the current situation in Kosovo.
Acting President Albulena Haxhiu had invited the parliamentary parties to a meeting scheduled for Tuesday.
However, the former opposition parties, PDK, LDK and the Alliance, boycotted the meeting.
These developments were announced at a press conference following Haxhiu’s meeting with representatives of the parliamentary parties representing non-majority communities.
