Angelov said the situation was stable and could not be compared to the case in Gostivar, as no one in Kruševo had reported symptoms of poisoning.
“As soon as I was informed that the water in Kruševo’s water supply system was also unsafe, I immediately contacted the mayor. He informed me that, due to a power outage, the chlorination device had been out of operation for no more than one hour, meaning that the water was not chlorinated during that time. For this reason, the situation in Kruševo bears no resemblance to what happened in Gostivar.
After one hour, the equipment that supplies chlorine to the city’s water system resumed operation, and I expect the situation there to stabilize completely,” said Stojanče Angelov, director of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue.
