Mariglen Kondi, 30, from Salaria in Tepelena, was arrested around midday today in Saranda’s No. 4 neighborhood, near the city stadium. He had been wanted since the beginning of this month on suspicion of attempting to abduct a Nepalese woman near the Qafë Botë customs checkpoint. According to police, the 30-year-old has an extensive criminal record.

The incident occurred on July 2 at around 18:53 in an area known as “Postbllok,” along the Konispol-Qafë Botë road. Kondi is suspected of repeatedly attempting to force the young Nepalese woman into a vehicle, but she managed to escape by running away and subsequently reported the incident to police.
After reviewing security camera footage, police identified Mariglen Kondi as the suspect. In 2020, he was arrested for the criminal offense of “cultivating narcotic plants,” committed in collaboration with others, and was later placed under house arrest. Kondi violated this security measure and was arrested again in 2021, this time for stealing several pickup trucks in Lushnje.
