The government has announced the construction of a new hospital in Kicevo, an investment that will cost 22 million euros. The facility is planned to be built at the entrance to the city, along the main road and near the barracks.

However, the long history of the hospital that was left unfinished has raised questions about whether Kicevo residents still trust new promises.
One citizen expressed skepticism, emphasizing that the facility has been under construction for 30 years and that “100 governments” have changed during that time.
Another resident said he believed the project would be carried out, while describing the proposed location as better and more spacious.
Another citizen said he was convinced that the hospital would be built “100%,” adding that those responsible should by now have had enough “of stealing and everything else.”
Other residents said they hoped for and believed in the completion of the project. Asked whether the more suitable location was that of the old facility or the area near the barracks, they said that it would be better for a new hospital to be built at the barracks.
Deputy Health Minister Jovica Andovski said that the agreement with the World Bank for the implementation of the project is expected to be signed within three to six months.
Andovski said the aim was to address the problem seriously and provide a sustainable and functional solution. According to him, the investment plan has been calculated at 22.5 million euros and envisages the construction of a new hospital facility with a capacity of between 80 and 120 beds. The hospital will be equipped with modern medical equipment and will provide contemporary conditions for diagnostics, specialist services and inpatient treatment.
The current facility, built decades ago but never put into operation, will be given another purpose. Kicevo Mayor Aleksandar Jovanovski said it would be used as a home for the elderly and for children with special needs. /tv21
