Internet leak exposes data of more than 41,000 US security employees

Personal and employment data belonging to more than 41,000 employees of the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have been published online following an event described as a “cybersecurity incident.” Among them are thousands of agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

The materials contain names, work addresses, telephone numbers and job descriptions. According to the published data, more than 21,000 people are employed by CBP, while around 6,600 work for ICE.

The publication also includes data on operations that had not previously been disclosed, as well as the technologies used by the agencies. The information was posted on the “Icepick” platform with the help of cybersecurity researcher Maia Crimew and the Distributed Denial of Secrets (DDoSecrets) organization.

DHS said it had been notified of the possible breach and was working to address it. The department emphasized that protecting its employees is a priority.

The leak comes as US immigration policies face criticism and public opposition. Donald Trump’s administration has increased arrests and deportations.

The Migration Policy Institute estimates that, since Trump returned to the White House in 2025, the US has carried out nearly one million deportations. More than 70 percent of those forcibly removed had no criminal records.
