Lutfi Haziri, deputy leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, commented on the demand by the branches in Peja and Lipjan for the resignation of the party chairman following the results of the June 7 elections.
According to him, these developments are part of the democratic functioning within the LDK and constitute a request of a political nature.

Haziri said that the demands of the branches led by Gazmend Muhaxheri and Imri Ahmeti, as well as Lumir Abdixhiku’s response, will be reviewed by the party’s bodies.
He stressed that such a situation had not come unexpectedly because, as he said, developments of this kind after elections are normal and to be expected.
“It is a political request, the chairman’s reaction is this, he began with thanks and naturally built his response, which we will discuss within the structures. We have a common goal, the political objective must not be touched, why the LDK exists, why it competes, what our mission is — that is what we have in common. Until the LDK returns to being the leading party, for many of us it is unacceptable, though the trend is positive. This situation has not caught us by surprise; post-election situations — the LDK is open, unlike other parties, it does not keep these issues closed, even though they should have been discussed internally,” Haziri said on Tëvë1.
The LDK branch in Peja, the one in Lipjan, as well as Branch II of the Democratic League of Kosovo in Prishtina, have called for Lumir Abdixhiku’s resignation from the position of chairman, assessing that the LDK is going through one of the most difficult periods in its history. /Telegrafi/
