Lutfi Haziri, deputy leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, has commented on the request by the branches in Peja and Lipjan for the resignation of the party chairman following the result of the June 7 elections.
According to him, this is a request of a political nature and part of the democratic functioning within the LDK.

Haziri said that the request coming from these branches, led by Gazmen Muhaxheri and Imri Ahmeti, as well as Lumir Abdixhiku’s response, will be reviewed by the party’s bodies.
He stressed that such a development had not surprised them, because, according to him, such situations are common after elections.
“It is a political request, this is the chairman’s reaction, he began with thanks and naturally built his response, which we will discuss within the structures. We have a common goal, the political objective must not be touched, why the LDK exists, competes, what our mission is, that is what we have in common. Until the LDK returns to being the first party, for many of us it is unacceptable, the trend is positive. This situation has not caught us by surprise, post-election situations, the LDK is open, unlike other parties, it does not keep these issues closed even though they should be discussed internally,” Haziri said.
