On 06.08.2026, at 23:12, it was reported that three members of a family originally from Komogllavë, Ferizaj, had lost their lives in a serious accident in Germany while returning from Kosovo.

The announcement was posted on social media by their fellow countryman, Qerim Rexhepi.
He said the victims were Tahir Aliu, 61, his son Gentian Aliu, 34, and Laurenti Aliu, 16, the son of Bardhyl Aliu.
In his announcement, Rexhepi expressed deep sorrow over the tragic accident that claimed the lives of the three people as they were returning from Kosovo. He also clarified that Tahir, 61, was the brother of Remzi Aliu; Gentian, 34, was Tahir’s son; and Laurenti, 16, was Bardhyl’s son.
Rexhepi extended his condolences to the victims’ families, the residents of the Nuhaj neighborhood in Komogllavë, and everyone affected by the tragedy.
At that time, the German authorities had not yet released any information about the circumstances in which the accident occurred.
An update published on 06.08.2026 at 23:13 also provided details reported by German media about the incident in which the three expatriates from Komogllavë, Ferizaj, lost their lives.
According to BR.de, the accident occurred on Thursday morning on the A3 motorway near Nittendorf, in the Regensburg district.
For reasons that have yet to be clarified, the vehicle left the road, slid down an embankment, and ended up on the railway line running beneath the motorway. The car came to a stop at the edge of the tracks.
Tahir Aliu, Gentian Aliu, and Laurenti Aliu, who were in the vehicle, did not survive their injuries.
The rescue operation proved difficult because the victims were trapped inside the car. A crane was needed to recover the vehicle.
Following the accident, the A3 motorway toward Nuremberg and the Regensburg–Nuremberg railway line remained closed for several hours.
Damage to the overhead power line also left a train carrying around 80 passengers without electricity.
The passengers were evacuated from the train and transferred to another one, while a diesel locomotive was later used to remove the stranded train.
Police in Germany said the cause of the accident remains unclear.
Preliminary investigation findings suggest that only the victims’ vehicle was involved in the incident.
The Regensburg Public Prosecutor’s Office ordered an expert to be brought in to reconstruct the sequence of events and the circumstances of the accident, while the investigation continues.
