The United States Embassy in Albania has responded following the confirmation of retired Lieutenant General Eric Wendt’s appointment as the next U.S. ambassador to the country.

In an official statement, the U.S. diplomatic mission announced that Wendt is expected to arrive in Tirana to take up his post as the highest-ranking U.S. representative in Albania.
The embassy said that, from Tirana, Ambassador-designate Wendt will support President Donald Trump’s vision for shared security, a stronger NATO, and fair deals for American businesses.
“Confirmed! Congratulations to Lieutenant General (Ret.) Eric Wendt on his new role as the next United States Ambassador to Albania! We look forward to welcoming Ambassador-designate Wendt to Tirana, where he will support President Trump’s vision for shared security, a stronger NATO, and fair deals for American businesses,” the embassy said in its statement.
