It is suspected that the man committed the murder after waiting for the 45-year-old woman to leave the building. Following an argument, he shot her dead. The man then shot himself in the head.
Neighbors said they heard three gunshots, with a gap of several seconds between them.
“I was sleeping at home, but I wasn’t in a deep sleep. Suddenly, we heard three very loud noises, and we didn’t know whether they were gunshots.
They did not react; there was a gap of several seconds. Shortly afterward, we heard the patrol car’s siren. I didn’t understand what had happened. It didn’t occur to me that it was a gunshot,” a resident of the building recounted.
So far, the investigation has found no indication that the couple were married. Meanwhile, according to Greek media, the 45-year-old woman’s daughter lived in the building where the crime took place.
Authorities have seized security camera footage that captured the entire scene and are investigating to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
