The Police Oversight Agency, through its Kukës-Dibër Regional Directorate, has arrested a State Police officer caught in the act, on suspicion of committing the criminal offence of “abuse of office”.
The arrested officer is 32-year-old Megin Gani Ademi, a Crime Investigation Specialist at the Dibër Police Commissariat.

According to the Police Oversight Agency’s investigation, Ademi is suspected of failing to take the necessary procedural and investigative steps for the removal of Amir Muaremi. The latter had been placed under the security measure of “house arrest” and extradition procedures to the Federal Republic of Germany were under way against him.
The procedural documentation has been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office, which will continue further investigations into the case.
