He emphasized that, thanks to its history and beauty, Albania has great potential, while Albanians deserve a dignified place in the European family.

“I am an emigrant. We deserve our rightful place in European society. We are a fantastic country admired by every foreigner,” he said.

Criticizing the current government, the citizen called for funds to be used for Albania’s development rather than to improve a political image.

“If Rama were to spend 1 billion euros around the world to clean up his name, if that money were invested in our country, everyone would vote for him,” the emigrant said.

According to him, it is regrettable that a country with such a rich history faces serious corruption problems.

“In a country with such a beautiful history, we have ended up in a deeply corrupt state. Here, the ignorant become heroes, while the educated leave,” he said.

The emigrant stressed that Albanians want a free state where citizens do not live in fear and where recognition is based on meritocracy.

“We are here to be proud of our homeland, as our ancestors were. We deserve a European government where meritocracy is valued and people feel free, not intimidated by party activists and many other things,” he said.

In conclusion, the citizen expressed his desire for Albania to make the changes that, in his view, its citizens deserve. Many Albanians living in the diaspora joined today’s protest.
