A robber had devised a quick scheme: enter the supermarket, take the money from the till and leave within seconds. However, his plan failed because of a newly hired cashier who did not have enough experience to open the till.
The incident was recorded in a province of Florence, where a 20-year-old shop assistant, on her first day at work, ended up unintentionally preventing a robbery. Her lack of training proved decisive for the thief, who not only got nothing but also risked being caught by supermarket customers.

According to local media, the man entered the supermarket and went directly to the checkout. He allegedly threatened the young woman, demanding that she hand over the money immediately. But because she did not yet know how to operate the till, the employee was unable to open it, costing the robber the time he had counted on.
After waiting for several minutes, the man abandoned the attempt. Customers and other employees had noticed the scene and, once they understood what was happening, intervened. The robber was forced to flee, while dozens of people chased him and alerted the Carabinieri. However, he appears to have disappeared before police arrived.
