Call to unblock the Assembly, PDK and the Alliance continue mobilization in front of the Government building

Since Wednesday morning, representatives of the Democratic Party of Kosovo have continued their protest action in front of the executive’s headquarters. For several days, lawmakers from the Alliance have also joined the group, while today they received support from municipal councilors from Lipjan.

Fadil Demaku, a PDK lawmaker, targeted his colleague Albin Kurti, accusing him of deliberately violating the Constitution and the country’s legal system for personal motives.

“This morning, too, we are here to strongly express our opposition to the actions of lawmaker Albin Kurti, who is knowingly violating the Constitution and the legal order of our state, entirely for his own interests, his ego and goals that have now become personal, because it is completely clear that everything is being orchestrated by him,” Demaku declared.

He appealed to Kurti to change his approach, warning that citizens’ outrage is deepening and that responsibility for future developments will fall on him.

“We call on him to reconsider this position as soon as possible, because if this continues, the people’s anger will increase and he will bear the consequences in the days ahead,” Demaku added.

Meanwhile, Yllëza Bedrolli, a member of the Lipjan Municipal Assembly, expressed her support for the protest against the institutional blockade. She called for parliament to be unblocked and for the process of establishing new institutions to move forward.

“Today, we support this protest because we cannot allow institutions to be blocked; we cannot accept the doors of a public institution such as the Assembly being closed. Therefore, I call on lawmaker Kurti and the Vetëvendosje Movement to come and open the doors of the Assembly and, starting today, begin forming the institutions, not obstruct them and, above all, not violate the Constitution, because it must take precedence over every political interest,” Bedrolli said.

She stressed that state bodies must act in the service of the Republic and democracy. “We exist for the Republic and democracy, in their service,” Bedrolli concluded.
