In a post, Koci expressed concern that no candidate for the position has been announced so far. According to him, the president should be a representative of all the citizens of Kosovo.
“There are only two days left until October 6, when the deadline for electing the president expires, yet we still do not have a name,” Koci wrote.
He stressed that the candidate should have been announced in due time, along with the reasons for the nomination. Koci said it was now too late for the process to be conducted seriously and rejected the possibility that the president could emerge unexpectedly.
“The president will represent us all. We should have known in good time who was being nominated and why. It is now too late for a serious process, while the solution is not to pull a president out of an envelope,” he declared.
Koci ended his statement by criticizing those who, in his view, had brought the situation to this point, saying that the state cannot be governed through surprise.
