Alicia Kearns, a British MP and member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, has stated that Serbia supplied weapons to the group that carried out the terrorist attack in Banjska, where police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed.
In a video she posted on the social network X, taken from a speech delivered at the Council of Europe, Kearns spoke in defense of the citizens of Serbia, saying that they deserve free elections, independent media, and a democracy freed from corruption and state capture.

“Europe must not look the other way while democratic freedoms are being destroyed,” she wrote on X.
Referring to the tragedy that occurred in Novi Sad, Kearns also spoke about the protests, emphasizing that 4 million people took to the streets.
She also raised concerns about the state of the media in Serbia, underlining that a free press is a fundamental pillar on which democracy is built. According to her, the media in Serbia are being “deliberately dismantled in full public view.”
