Albania’s first helicopter contingent has departed to join NATO’s KFOR mission in Kosovo, Defence Minister Ermal Nufi announced.
Thirteen personnel from Albania’s Armed Forces are taking part in the mission. Nufi said their deployment demonstrates the professionalism of Albanian servicemen and Albania’s commitment to its role as a NATO ally.

The minister highlighted that participation in KFOR is particularly important for Albania, both because of its historic and fraternal ties with Kosovo and because of shared security in the region.
According to Nufi, Kosovo’s stability and security have a direct impact on the peace and security of Albania and the region as a whole.
“This mission is particularly important for Albania, not only because of its historic and fraternal ties with Kosovo, but also because its security and stability are closely linked to the peace and security of Albania and our entire region,” Nufi wrote.
