The rallies are being held as part of the movement dubbed the “Flamingo Revolution” by its participants, which began 84 days ago with opposition to the government and calls for Rama’s resignation.
In central Tirana, citizens appeared with flags and banners, while the slogans “Rama, resign!” and “Rama, go!” were repeatedly heard from the crowd.
The protesters say they will not end their action and that the gatherings will continue until their political demand for the prime minister’s departure is met.
The “Flamingo Revolution” was initiated in May in the Zvërnec area. Later, the movement spread to Tirana, becoming a daily protest against the government.
In recent days, citizens have gathered in Skanderbeg Square and marched toward the Prime Minister’s Office. At these rallies, too, their main demand has remained Edi Rama’s resignation.
