Six LDK lawmakers have announced that they will not support the agreement reached between the party’s leader, Lumir Abdixhiku, and LVV leader Albin Kurti on the candidacy of Bekim Sejdiu for president of Kosovo.

The lawmakers’ stance appears to have brought Abdixhiku and Kurti back to the negotiating table.
The two leaders reportedly met again this afternoon at the Assembly of Kosovo, with the meeting beginning at around 4:00 p.m.
Their discussion took place after a meeting of the LDK Parliamentary Group, where Abdixhiku discussed with party lawmakers their position on Sejdiu’s candidacy.
After the meeting, Abdixhiku said that the opposition of six LDK lawmakers to Bekim Sejdiu’s candidacy for president inevitably puts Kosovo on the path to elections.
It remains to be seen whether the latest meeting between Abdixhiku and Kurti will produce a solution to the crisis that has emerged, or whether Kosovo will face new elections.
