Olivier Guérot, France’s outgoing ambassador to Kosovo, recounted his four-year experience in the country during an exclusive interview on the “Info Magazine” program.

He said he would remember Kosovo as an energetic, welcoming and vibrant country that continues to make progress.
“After four years, I have formed many impressions, but I will remember Kosovo as a lively country, with warm and welcoming people, exceptionally dynamic and in continuous development,” Guérot said.
Speaking about the most difficult periods of his tenure, the French diplomat said the main challenge was the September 24, 2023 attack in Banjska.
“The attack in Banjska was the most challenging moment. The developments that preceded and followed it during 2022, 2023 and 2024 were also serious,” he said.
Guérot also recalled attending the funeral ceremony of Hero Afrim Bunjaku, the police officer who was killed in Banjska.
Despite these events, the ambassador emphasized that his term in Kosovo had also included joyful moments.
