In addition to screenings, workshops dedicated to film, animation and painting will be organised during the festival’s four days. Art enthusiasts of different ages are taking part, while the organisers aim for the event to also serve as a meeting forum for young creators.

Artists from various countries in the region are also taking part in the festival. They see the event as an opportunity to establish new collaborations in cinema and present their work to Albanian audiences.

Some participants have chosen this festival to screen their works in Albania for the first time. One of the competing directors described Gjirokastër as an attractive city and expressed her hope that the festival would be successful.

During this summer season, the “Dropull International Short Film Festival” is positioning Gjirokastër as a meeting point for the region’s film industry. The organisers aim for the films and artistic activities to bring audiences closer to the seventh art and foster stronger cultural ties among neighbouring countries.
