The news was announced by Arianit Elshani, the director of education in the Municipality of Pristina, in a Facebook post.
Elshani announced that preschoolers would have a more suitable schedule, increasing their lessons from just two hours to four.
According to him, the additional time will give children more opportunities to learn, play, take part in activities and socialize with their peers.
The director of education said the change would also make things easier for parents, who would find it more manageable to combine their work commitments with childcare.
“At the same time, parents will have a more manageable schedule, allowing work and childcare to go hand in hand more effectively,” Elshani wrote.
He stressed that the Municipality of Pristina aims to introduce policies serving children and families.
“Child development, work and family well-being must move in the same direction,” the director of education concluded.
