At Police Station No. 2 in Tirana, Democratic Party MP Ina Zhupa said that American photojournalist Michael Moates was among those arrested. She said his arrest was linked to his recording of police actions.
Zhupa is at the station with her colleague Besart Xhaferri, following reports that protesters were detained during recent demonstrations.

In her statement, the MP accused police of using violence against citizens and terrorizing the city. She voiced concern about the treatment of both protest participants and those documenting events on the ground.
Calling on people not to hold back, Zhupa claimed that police were assaulting and arresting anyone. She said the American photojournalist Michael Moates’s only “crime” was filming police actions, which she described as barbaric acts.
