The Cërrik Municipal Council held a meeting to draw up a calendar for public hearings related to the Administrative-Territorial Reform. During the initial discussions, right-wing councillors opposed Cërrik’s inclusion in Elbasan Municipality, while left-wing representatives did not articulate a clear position.

Cërrik Mayor Florenc Doka chose not to express a final opinion on the matter. He said he would make his position on the Territorial Reform known after the public hearings had concluded.
Under the reform, Cërrik and Belsh are expected to merge with Elbasan Municipality. The initiative had already faced opposition in Cërrik, where protests were organised and signatures were collected through petitions.
