More than 1,200 oncology patients have applied under the call for financial support, while payments to applicants who met the criteria have been made or are expected to be completed tomorrow, Skopje Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski announced.

According to him, every application was reviewed carefully and with dedication to ensure that assistance reaches those in greatest need.
“There are times when words are not enough. There are moments when humanity is not measured by what we say, but by our willingness to extend a helping hand to someone facing the greatest difficulties,” Gjorgjievski said.
The call for financial assistance remains open. Patients who meet the requirements but have not yet applied may still do so.
The mayor of Skopje said that behind every figure is a person and a family facing a difficult struggle in life. For this reason, he said, institutional support must be expressed through action and not limited to statements.
“It is our human and institutional responsibility to stand by our fellow citizens not only through words, but also through concrete steps, care and support,” the mayor stressed.
Gjorgjievski added that the aim is to ensure that no patient or family experiences a feeling of loneliness during the most difficult period of their lives.
