The Alliance has called on the Vetëvendosje Movement to convene the constitutive session of the Assembly as soon as possible, in order to create the conditions for the election of a consensus president. Its representatives said the seven votes of Alliance MPs for this process remain on the table, but demanded approval of their six points, including the issue of American gas.

At a press conference held on Monday, the head of the Alliance Parliamentary Group, Besnik Tahiri, accused LVV of deliberately delaying the establishment of the institutions, with the aim of scheduling new elections for the end of the year.
Tahiri said the Alliance is ready to provide its votes for the president and called for the matter to proceed without delay. According to him, his party should not merely be asked for its votes; lawful decisions must also be adopted confirming the supply of American gas to Kosovo, the implementation of investments and the fulfillment of the six points they have presented.
Speaking about the Constitutional Court, he recalled that discussions had also taken place on the night when the Alliance requested that the session be held. Tahiri said that one night earlier they had identified violations of the Constitution, while they are now referring to the 48-hour deadline stipulated in the rules of procedure. According to him, the country is not facing a constitutional crisis, but a political crisis imposed on Kosovo as a result of LVV’s political aim to keep all three positions under its control.
He reiterated that the Alliance would not refer the failure to constitute the Assembly to the Constitutional Court. He also said that MPs from the former opposition have not yet launched any initiative to secure the 40 signatures required to convene an extraordinary session.
Tahiri clarified that there is currently no initiative to convene an extraordinary session with 40 signatures and that, as long as no such initiative exists, he cannot respond to a hypothetical scenario. He added that if any idea emerges that could lead the country out of the crisis, the Alliance would immediately provide its signatures to the LDK or PDK, or obtain theirs. However, according to him, no such cause currently exists.
According to Tahiri, the aim is to extend the deadline for constituting the Assembly, giving Kurti more time to set the election date as he wishes. He said establishing the institutions would be quite easy if Kurti wanted it, as the numbers are known and there is agreement on consensus candidates. Tahiri said Kosovo has enough serious candidates and that a serious platform could be developed, but it could only be put into operation once the composition of the Assembly is known.
Tahiri went on to announce that criminal complaints would be filed against the government cabinet over what he described as unlawful decisions made at its latest meeting. At that meeting, 18 commissions were established which, according to him, are intended to make appointments to executive and government agencies, as well as to public positions.
In conclusion, he called for an end to the capture of the State Administration, stressing that it does not belong to any party, but to Kosovo and its officials. Tahiri called for officials not to be pressured into breaking the law or making decisions that could result in criminal consequences in the future. He also demanded that state institutions not be used as extensions of political parties, emphasizing that Kosovo is not and has never been the property of any political entity, including LVV.
