According to a statement from the Crisis Management Center, as of 1 p.m. on August 16, a total of nine fires in open areas had been recorded across the country.

Four of them remain active, three have been brought under control, while two have been extinguished.
Active fires have been recorded in the municipalities of Studeničani, Makedonski Brod, Veles and Zelenikovo, as well as in the area between the municipalities of Jegunovce and Saraj. The flames have mainly affected mixed forests, low vegetation, shrubs, as well as areas covered with oak and hornbeam.
Three fires in the municipalities of Kruševo and Kriva Palanka are under control. Meanwhile, two fires have been completely extinguished: one in the village of Pagaruša in Studeničani, where an illegal dump had caught fire, and the other near the Orthodox cemetery in Ohrid.
