At a press conference, Zhernovski said that on August 3, several media outlets reported statements by Mucunski claiming that talks to unblock European integration were being held “under the radar.” However, as he stressed, ten days later the minister denied these claims and accused the opposition of spreading lies.
“This is not a matter of any silence, nor is it a matter of any denial; as far as Mucunski is concerned, he was simply caught in a lie,” Zhernovski declared.
According to him, such conduct is part of the ruling VMRO-DPMNE’s broader political strategy. He criticized the Government for focusing on attacks against the opposition and critics instead of showing results.
Zhernovski claimed that Mucunski is now also intervening in domestic political issues, saying that earlier he had dealt with the situation in the Municipality of Aerodrom and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He also accused Mucunski of threatening the opposition and citizens who raise the alarm about certain problems.
In this context, Zhernovski referred to the SDSM’s response to the situation involving drinking water in Gostivar, as well as the delayed responses to cases of West Nile fever. In his assessment, the Government is not providing answers and information, but is warning of consequences for those who criticize it./Telegragfi/
