Police officers arrested 14 people during checks conducted across the country over the past 24 hours. They are suspected of the criminal offense of “reckless driving of a motor vehicle,” stipulated under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code.

Of those detained, 10 people, including three minors, were caught driving without a driver’s license. A white powdery substance was also found on one of these drivers. Three other people were driving under the influence of alcohol, while one of them was involved in a road accident. One person was detained after driving the wrong way on a one-way street. Once each case has been fully documented, the appropriate criminal charges will be filed against them.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs called on all road users to strictly comply with traffic rules and regulations. The ministry urged citizens not to drive without a driver’s license, while subject to a driving ban, or under the influence of alcohol. According to the ministry, responsible road use is a shared obligation and the main prerequisite for improving the safety of all citizens.
