Representatives of the younger generation delivered strong messages about the emigration crisis, the lack of meritocracy and the government’s policies. The protesters then left the area in front of the government building and, together with civil society representatives and numerous citizens, began marching along Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard before continuing through the capital’s main streets.
As the crowd moved through the city, the boulevard and Tirana’s main thoroughfares echoed with the participants’ powerful chants. Citizens are marching continuously to chants of “Rama, resign!”, “Albania demands a revolution!” and “Down with the dictatorship!”, while vehicle traffic has been temporarily brought to a standstill.
