The parliamentary group of the Democratic Party of Kosovo sent an official request a day earlier to Avni Dehari, who is presiding over the Kosovo Assembly, asking him to schedule the resumption of the constitutive session for August 12, 2026.

PDK says the failure to constitute the Assembly within the established deadline has created a serious constitutional situation. According to the party, the expiration of this deadline does not remove the responsibility to complete the institution’s constitution.
The party stresses that the obligation to complete the constitutive process remains in force and must be fulfilled without any further delay.
PDK’s request states that the resumption of the session must be convened immediately so that the elected MPs can exercise the mandate entrusted to them by the citizens.
PDK’s parliamentary group announced that, regardless of whether Avni Dehari fulfills his obligation to convene the session, it will be present in the chamber of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo at 11:00 on August 12. The second 48-hour period for resuming the session under the rules of procedure also expires at that time.
PDK also called on the other parliamentary groups and elected MPs to attend the Assembly session on Wednesday. According to the party, their presence would demonstrate their political readiness and willingness to honor the trust placed in them by the citizens.
The constitutive session had resumed on Saturday but was later adjourned at the request of LVV leader Albin Kurti. This came after the situation in the chamber escalated when MP Time Kadrijaj threw eggs at Albin Kurti.
