Activist Ilir Xhemalaj, speaking in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, presented several principles that, he said, should guide the “New Albania” platform.

He said that the country citizens want is an Albania where freedom of speech is respected, justice is applied without discrimination, and the law applies equally to everyone, regardless of wealth, connections or political affiliation.
“For 72 consecutive days, we have raised and discussed the country’s problems in this square.
We want an Albania where the state does not serve those in power, but the citizens.
We want a country where justice is not influenced by money, connections or the party you belong to, and where the law is the same for everyone.
We want work to be valued and young people not to be forced to leave the country.
We want an environment where businesses do not need friends in order to operate.
Albania’s resources should belong to Albanians, not to foreigners who exploit us.
Citizens living in the country and those abroad should feel part of the same nation, while the diaspora should be viewed as a human asset and not merely as a source of income.
Citizens should be able to speak freely, without fear, while farmers should be able to work by the sweat of their brow.
This is the Albania I want. It can be built only by people who truly love their country, not by traitors,” Xhemalaj said.
