The queue of vehicles waiting to complete procedures at the Greek customs counters stretched for around 5 kilometers. Due to the slow processing of documents by the Greek side, hundreds of people traveling to Albania have been waiting for a considerable amount of time.
Reports indicate that, despite the high volume of traffic, the Greek authorities are operating only 1 to 2 counters, further increasing waiting times at the border. During this period in August, an average of 9,000 people a day pass through the Kakavija customs crossing in both directions.
