Khanza reported that the Russian military carried out around 50 combined attacks against five different districts of the region, using an arsenal that included suicide drones, aerial bombs and heavy artillery.
The two deaths were recorded near Nikopol, a key city located on the right bank of the Dnieper River. The area regularly comes under Russian bombardment, mainly because it lies very close to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which is currently under the control of Moscow’s forces.
In a statement posted on Telegram, Governor Khanza added that one of those injured was receiving treatment in serious condition.
These strikes come as armed clashes between Ukrainian and Russian forces continue with increased intensity on several fronts across the country.
