Second Protest in Memaliaj Against Territorial Reform as Residents Reject Merger with Tepelena

Memaliaj residents have once again taken to the streets to oppose the new administrative division plan, which seeks to merge their municipality with the Municipality of Tepelena.

This marks the second consecutive demonstration organized by the community, which has openly expressed its opposition to the reform and is demanding that Memaliaj remain an independent administrative unit.

According to participants, integration with Tepelena would hinder local development and undermine the representation of the area’s interests. They appealed to the government to reconsider the proposals for the new territorial division.

They have vowed to step up their public actions in the coming days if their voices are not heard.
