Valon Bela and imam Bekir Halimi, both citizens of North Macedonia, have been declared “persona non grata” by Albania’s Ministry of the Interior. According to reports by media outlets in Tirana, there is information linking them to activities harmful to the Albanian state.

The measure was approved by the Ministry of the Interior following a proposal submitted by the antiterrorism unit of the Albanian State Police. With this decision, the two citizens have been added to the list of people considered unwelcome because of suspicious activities against Albania.
A few weeks ago, the same institution also declared Kosovo citizen Ikballe Huduti “persona non grata,” barring her from entering Albania for 15 years.
