According to the prosecution, Reshani was wanted under two active arrest warrants. In addition, domestic and international wanted notices had been issued for him by the competent court at the Prosecution’s request, Klankosova.tv reports.
The request for pretrial detention is linked to criminal proceedings against him for the offenses of “Coercion,” “Unlawful Deprivation of Liberty,” and “Continuous Intimidation During Criminal Proceedings.”
In addition to this case, the defendant is also facing other criminal proceedings at the Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren, both in the Serious Crimes Department and the General Department. Proceedings are also underway at the Special Prosecution Office of the Republic of Kosovo.
The other cases are related to suspected offenses of “Attempted Aggravated Murder,” “Unauthorized Ownership, Control or Possession of Weapons,” and “Threatening” state officials.
The Prosecution stated that, at this stage of the criminal proceedings, there are legal grounds for ordering pretrial detention. The statement said that the defendant had remained beyond the reach of the judicial authorities for a prolonged period, had been wanted under arrest warrants and domestic and international wanted notices, and that there was a risk he could flee or obstruct the criminal proceedings.
