The decision was approved at a meeting of the Council of Ministers and provides for the price of diesel at fuel stations to be reduced by 17 cents per liter until August 25.

The measure comes into force before the previous relief expires, which had been scheduled to end on August 6.

Before the government meeting, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni held consultations with Deputy Prime Ministers Antonio Tajani and Matteo Salvini, as well as with Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti, on the details of the new package.
